About Me

About Me

Namaste, dear visitors!

Thank you for taking the time to visit this page. I look forward to connecting with you and giving you a glimpse into my life and passions. It will be a long introduction, so please bear with me.

Who Am I?

I am Payal Tyagi, an Indian traveller and writer wandering the streets of London and aspiring to leave my footprints in every corner of the world.

I usually travel with my husband as a travel couple, and I will surely give him credit for encouraging me to begin this blog and share my travelling passion with all of you.

Whenever we plan to go anywhere, research, budget and execution come under my responsibility because I love to do it. I make Excel sheets and write notes on my phone about things to do, places to eat, hotels, flights, activities, etc. Then, I also focus on packing according to a place and the dos and don’ts.

Sometimes, I also love to travel solo and enjoy the company of a serene place.

Education

My insatiable hunger for knowledge has led me to pursue various academic endeavours, ranging from a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology to an MBA in Agriculture and Food Business and then certifications in Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Content Marketing and SEO. Further, I have worked in multiple industries, which makes my profile even more diverse.

Family Background

I inherited my travel genes from my father, who believes people should travel to learn crucial life lessons, and that’s how we covered most of the regions in India during my childhood and teenage. My creative genes are from my mother, who has a knack for fashion designing, cooking, and artistic work.

International Trips and Career

My international trips began with Bhutan (the best country for honeymoon, considering its happiness index), and then, after two years, we went to Australia on a work visa. My husband, a software engineer, went there on a project from his company side, and I left my job in India and searched for a new job in Sydney in business development. Finding a new job in a new country is altogether a different kind of struggle, but I was keen on doing it to explore a foreign destination.

After one and a half years, we returned to India, and I began to work towards switching my career. And it’s a different story, which I will share in a separate blog post someday. In 2018, I became a Content Writer and went to Malaysia to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

In 2020, the pandemic came, and amidst that, my husband got another opportunity from his company to move to London, and I came along. A new chapter of job struggle in a new country began, but this time, I had my job with an Indian company, which was a significant relief, even for a short span.

The best part of moving countries is exploring the country like a local. This change was like a breath of fresh air, a transition from my mundane routine during the pandemic, and a considerable risk.

When I got my job as a Content Specialist and then Content Manager in London, I could save money for travelling and ticking a few more pages off my bucket list. I went skydiving in England, which has been on my bucket list since I was in Australia.

Eventually, we also went to our dream destinations in Europe, Switzerland and Paris, where we spent lavishly.

My husband and I also purchased a car, so we gladly do many road trips in the United Kingdom.

My Core Principles

Integrity is a fundamental aspect of my character. Transparency and accountability are principles I hold dear in my personal and professional life. A person’s word is their bond, and I strive to live up to this ideal.

Kindness is a virtue that is essential in our world today. I treat everyone I encounter with respect, empathy, and compassion. I feel that I am committed to bringing smiles to faces, even if it is one person at a time.

Gratitude for the blessings that I have in my life keeps me grounded.

Hobbies

I enjoy hobbies such as reading, writing, doodling, dancing and hiking in my free time. I find solace in immersing myself in a good book and relish the opportunity to express myself through the written word. Hiking allows me to connect with nature away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Dancing always lifts my mood, or when I feel joyful, I express it through dance, and that’s why you will get to see dance reels in my Insta account, which I mostly make during my trips.

About Travel To Muse

Travel To Muse is my dream project, which has been in my thoughts for the last two years, but I couldn’t begin it due to other commitments.

My passion for travelling is equated to my love for writing, so I coordinated them. Click on the “Writing” tab at the top of this page and scroll down to the “Portfolio” submenu to see my professional work samples and musings, including poetry, quotes, and posts on issues I am vocal about.

Through Travel To Muse, I provide practical tips and advice to you for planning your memorable trips, which could include recommendations for affordable and luxurious accommodations, local transportation options, culture and heritage, Do’s and Don’ts or must-try vegan and vegetarian dishes, and fashion tips in specific destinations. The trip planning resources are shared in the submenu under the ‘Travel’ tab.

I have covered six destinations until now, which are very few, but I am hoping to grow the list while sharing the Travel to Muse journey with you all, so please wish me luck!

Since I live in the UK and travel like a local, I believe, I am on my way to becoming an expert UK Travel Guide. Drawing from my experience, I share valuable insights to inspire you to travel to hidden gems and popular destinations and plan your itinerary seamlessly.

Do I have some stories for you? I’ve experienced various emotions on my travels — from tears of frustration to laughter. And let’s not forget about the decisions I’ve made while listening to my gut feeling. But this is all a part of the adventure. So sit back, relax, and get ready to hear some travel stories that’ll keep you informed, have you laughing, and maybe shed a tear or two.

A Poem to Sum Up My Thoughts

A traveller I am, a wanderlust at heart,

With an insatiable curiosity, I depart,

To explore the world, its wonders and its art,

And to share my journey, I start this blog, a work of art.

With each step I take, a story I unfold,

Of cultures, people, and landscapes untold,

With every adventure, a memory I hold,

And with each post, a story I’ve told.

So come along with me on this journey of a lifetime,

As we discover the world, one place at a time,

With each destination, we have a new experience we’ll find,

And with every adventure, a new story we’ll bind.
