Bonjour chers voyageurs! After watching Emily in Paris (especially season one), you aren’t alone if Paris has become your eternal muse of wanderlust, appealing through its enchanting streets and neighbourhoods where the rhythm of Parisian life echoes. It happened to me, too.

Though Paris was always on my bucket list, its romanticisation in the series increased my interest in its culture and heritage. Then, I made my first romantic trip to Paris with my travel and life partner in 2022. It’s been two years, and I want to visit there again.

Emily in Paris Locations -Season 1 and 3

Emily in Paris has already completed its three seasons on Netflix and the fourth season is in production. Many French scenic regions were covered in the series, including the world’s fashion capital, Paris.

In Paris, around fifteen to twenty locations were filmed in the series. Still, in this post, I recommend the best six Emily in Paris locations that mirror this Netflix series’s allure and glamour and are worth visiting with your partner. In addition, I will be sharing some tips to help you plan your itinerary efficiently.

Note: Many locations I will share here are free to visit, but wherever an entrance fee or other activities’ costs are involved, I will mention them too.

So, what are we waiting for? Grab your beret, and let’s unlock the essence of Paris in a way only Emily could reveal in every season.

Eiffel Tower

In the heart of Paris, where the Seine River whispers tales of love, stands an emblem of timeless romance — the Eiffel Tower. This iron masterpiece pierces the sky with elegance and grace, casting its latticed shadow over the entire city. That’s why having the Eiffel Tower as the main character or in the backdrop is inevitable when a romantic movie or series is filmed in Paris. Apart from romantic proposals, this iconic landmark is also one of the best spots for creating lifetime memories through photos in Paris.

What time are the Eiffel Tower Lights?

The cherry on the cake is a daily display of diamond-sparkling lights on the Eiffel Tower, which happens for five minutes every hour, from dusk until 1 am. When in Paris, never miss watching the Eiffel Tower wrapped in golden splendour.

The Eiffel Tower has also lit up in pink sparkles on the 1st of October each year since 2014 to support the breast cancer awareness and information campaign by the Pink Ribbon Foundation. Check out the history of the Eiffel Tower and other information here.

Emily in Paris Reference

In the third season of Emily in Paris, Emily had a dream where her boss from Chicago was asking her to leave Paris. Then Emily told her that she had found a job in Paris, after which Sylvie, her French boss, entered the scene and a web of confusion intertwined. Well, that scene was filmed on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, from where you can enjoy clear views of all the French’s capital famous monuments, such as the Montmartre, Invalides, Louvre, Grand Palais and so on. This floor is also home to a Michelin-starred restaurant, Jules Verne, and other shops. This floor is the last stop before you reach the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Tips: To capture the best Eiffel Tower view, head towards Trocadéro Gardens. It lies opposite the River Seine from the Eiffel Tower and is free for everyone.

When you are in Trocadéro, you can also visit Café de l’Homme, located inside Palais de Chaillot, which offers marvellous views of the Eiffel Tower and is the place in the series where Emily attended the launch party for the release of the Maison Lavaux’s new fragrance De l’heure and dazzled by the spectacular view of sparkling golden beauty.

Pont Alexandre III Bridge

Pont Alexandre III, a true jewel spanning the Seine River in Paris, embodies elegance and grandeur. Named after Tsar Alexander III, this iconic bridge is a chef-d’oeuvre of Belle Époque design, adorned with ornate sculptures, gilded embellishments, and magnificent lamp posts.

As the sun sets, the bridge becomes a spectacle of shimmering lights, reflecting in the gentle ripples of the Seine.

The bridge connects the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais, creating a regal passage symbolising the friendship between France and Russia.

Tips

Take a stroll with your partner across Pont Alexandre III to feel like you are stepping into a bygone era of opulence and romance, with the Eiffel Tower gracefully framing the scene, making it an essential part of the itinerary of your Parisian vacation.

Also, take the River Seine Get Your Guide evening cruise to explore the beauty and architecture of Pont Alexandre III and many other elegant bridges like Pont des Arts and Pont Neuf (featured in season 2) while passing underneath them. In addition, you will be witnessing the history and story of many other iconic sites, such as Notre Dame, Musée d’Orsay, Place de la Concorde and Louvre Museum, all featured at some point in the series.

Palais Garnier

Palais Garnier, an architectural gem designed by Charles Garnier, stands as a testament to luxury and artistic mastery. This grand opera house, inaugurated in 1875, shows unparalleled sophistication with its profuse facade, intricate carvings, and the renowned bronze statue of Apollo gracing its rooftop.

The Palais Garnier boasts a sumptuous interior adorned with rich red velvety walls and an awe-inspiring chandelier that hangs as a glittering centrepiece in the auditorium. Beyond its architectural splendour, the Palais Garnier has played a significant role in cultural history, providing the stage for countless world-class performances and inspiring “The Phantom of the Opera” novel.

When you traverse its ornate halls and grand staircase, you will enter a world where artistic excellence converges with architectural majesty, creating an enduring symbol of Parisian cultural legacy.

Montmartre

Another favourite location in the series is Montmartre, where Emily and her best friend Mindy dined at La Maison Rose. This Instagrammable restaurant was opened in 1908, played a host to many famous people, and is still loved for its marvellous pastel shades.

Montmartre, the soulful enclave, is perched on a picturesque hilltop in Paris. It was once a haven for revolutionary thinkers and avant-garde artists like Picasso and Van Gogh and still exudes a bohemian charm that weaves a tapestry of artistic allure.

Emily also launched a luxury mattress campaign in the series at Place Dalida. Place Dalida is a charming square in Montmartre named after the famous French music icon Dalida, whose bronze bust statue was added at the square by Paris City Hall in 1997 to honour her contributions.

The iconic Sacré-Cœur Basilica graces the summit, offering breathtaking city views of the Eiffel Tower and other iconic monuments. Montmartre’s enchanting ambience is heightened by the Place du Tertre, where local artists showcase their talents amid lively cafes. Montmartre remains a timeless retreat with cobblestone streets, secret courtyards, and a rich artistic legacy, inviting all who wander to embrace its captivating spirit.

Tip: Metro station to reach Montmartre: Line 2 (Anvers and Blanche) and Line 12( Abbesses). When you come out of Abbesses metro station, you will notice a tiny public garden behind it where you must visit the ‘Wall of Love’, which contains more than 300 translations of “I love you” in various languages and dialects.

The Palace of Versailles graces the outskirts of Paris with its breathtaking splendour. Constructed during the 17th century under the visionary reign of Louis XIV, this monumental château served as the epicentre of French political power and artistic refinement.

The palace features the renowned Hall of Mirrors, a gallery adorned with 357 mirrors reflecting the surrounding gardens and flooding the space with an ethereal light. This is also the most stunning filming spot in season 2 of Emily in Paris, and just an hour away from Paris via train.

The meticulously landscaped Gardens of Versailles, an expansive canvas of manicured lawns, fountains, and sculpted hedgerows, further enhance the regal ambience. From the gilded gates of the palace to the vast expanse of the grounds, Versailles encapsulates an era of architectural finesse.

The Palace of Versailles is a living testament to the French monarchy’s influence on culture and history, drawing admirers worldwide.

PS: Honestly, I didn’t like season 3 of Emily in Paris, which had many conundrums, so my hopes are low for the next one. What are your thoughts? Please let me know in the comments.
